In-house Employment Lawyer, Urgent requirement, quick turnaround, immediate start, day rate contract (inside IR35), global market leader. 1 day a week in the office.
We are looking for a talented and experienced legal counsel with significant in-house experience to advise on the full range of both contentious and non-contentious employment law matters.
Delivering high quality, timely and pragmatic employment law advice to a variety of internal stakeholders
Taking ownership of your own employment law matters and updating the team\’s Legal Director as necessary, escalating areas of importance or concern promptly
Collaborating with the rest of the employment lawyers in OGC and the wider OGC team where necessary
You will have the following experience and skills:
• Experienced UK qualified employment lawyer with significant in-house experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to build connections
• Ability to collaborate across the business with people and teams at all levels, inspiring trust and confidence with customers
• Proactive with a strong attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Mature and discreet, with proven ability to handle sensitive information and situations
• Demonstrate alignment with and behaviour consistent with our Shared Values
• Excellent drafting skills
• Flexible approach and ability to learn new areas quickly
The role requires you to:
• Operate as part of a highly skilled team of employment lawyers providing advice on a broad variety of people matters including: restructures and business shaping, TUPE, corporate transactions, contractual agreements, restrictive covenants, grievances and ethical issues, disciplinary matters, internal policies and procedures, whistleblowing, compensation and benefits, terminations, disputes and litigation in the Employment Tribunal
• Advise on the legal aspects of major people related projects/initiatives
• Be highly collaborative, working closely on matters and projects to enable a seamless service to your internal customers
• Partner with key customers across the business including HR and the wider risk community
• Proactively identify, address and manage legal risk issues arising with employment law matters.
The employment law team (currently 6 people) in the UK Office of the General Counsel is responsible for advising the firm in relation to all employment and people related matters, ensuring the provision of high quality, commercial and practical legal advice.
