As a
Data Engineer
at Nexalytica, you will build and maintain the infrastructure that connects our platform to the databases our customers rely on every day. You will design high-performance query execution layers, develop new database connectors, and optimise the pipelines that turn raw schema metadata into the context our AI needs to generate accurate answers. You will work on challenges like query optimisation across heterogeneous database engines, intelligent caching strategies for large datasets, and schema discovery that works reliably across thousands of different database configurations. Your work directly affects the speed, accuracy, and reliability of every insight Nexalytica delivers. This role sits at the intersection of data infrastructure and product. You will collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers who depend on the data layer you build, and with full-stack engineers who surface your work to end users. If you love the craft of making data systems fast, correct, and elegant, you will thrive here. What you'll bring
You are an engineer who thinks about data from the ground up -- how it is stored, how it moves, how it is queried, and how it can be made accessible to people who do not speak SQL. You have strong opinions about query performance and you back them up with measurement. 3–5 years of experience in data engineering or backend infrastructure. Deep proficiency in
SQL
and experience with multiple database engines ( PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, BigQuery, MySQL ). Experience building
database connectors or integration layers . Strong
Python
skills for scripting, tooling, and pipeline development. Familiarity with
data modelling, schema design, and query optimisation . Experience with
cloud infrastructure
(AWS, GCP, or Azure). We invest in the people who build the foundation everything else runs on. Competitive salary + meaningful equity. Hybrid working from our London office with flexible remote days. £2,500 annual learning and conference budget. Latest hardware and tooling of your choice. 25 days annual leave +
