A well backed early stage insurtech is building the AI platform that will redefine how underwriting decisions are made across a global multi trillion dollar market. Insurance is one of the largest and slowest moving industries on earth. Its core workflows still rely on manual judgement, scattered information and legacy systems. We are rebuilding everything from the ground up with intelligent agents, advanced LLM systems and real time data pipelines. Every line of code you ship will support live customers making high stakes decisions in real time.
The team combines deep insurance and underwriting expertise with engineers who have built production grade AI in fast moving product companies. We recently secured a multi million pound investment from respected European funds and already have enterprise insurers using our platform in production. Momentum is real. The appetite for transformation is massive. And we are becoming the operating system for modern underwriting.
We are now expanding our founding engineering team across full stack and AI. The stack includes TypeScript with Next.js, Python, AWS, Supabase and modern tooling across retrieval and evaluation.
What we are looking for
- You are a high agency engineer who wants to apply cutting edge AI to some of the most complex problems in the industry.
- You track the latest LLM advancements, think in systems and enjoy taking ideas from zero to production.
- You want ownership, pace, clarity and direct customer feedback.
In this role you will
- Build agentic workflows that extract, reason and generate high quality underwriting insights.
- Design and ship LLM powered features end to end.
- Build and optimise retrieval pipelines, search indices and evaluation frameworks.
- Develop interfaces, APIs and infrastructure for AI driven underwriting products.
- Work closely with the founding team and with users to identify pain points and deliver real value fast.
Your background
- Five plus years of engineering experience in product focused environments.
- A track record of taking features or products from idea to launch.
- Experience building with LLMs including RAG, semantic search and vector stores.
- Hands on with TypeScript, React, Node and Python.
- Comfortable deploying to AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Curious, fast, accountable and motivated by ownership.
This is a rare chance to join a small founding team, shape the core architecture of a category defining AI platform and drive change in one of the world’s most important and least disrupted industries.
