We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Car Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role requires a strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics. The Car Mechanic will also provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and schematics.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs efficiently.
- Follow safety procedures during all maintenance activities, including heavy lifting and equipment repair tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed and parts used for each vehicle.
- Assist with vehicle assembly and disassembly as required during repair processes.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repair procedures and estimated timelines clearly to clients.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations, and fluid replacements to prolong vehicle lifespan.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Car Mechanic or similar role with a solid understanding of automotive systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by the ability to read technical schematics and manuals.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and equipment repair methods.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts replacement.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Valid driving licence is preferred; own transport is advantageous for mobility between work sites.
- Organised with attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship in every task undertaken.
