Newtown C ofE Primary School are seeking toappoint knowledgeable andenthusiastic SEN Lead Teacher to work within our Resource Provision (RP) forpupils with Autism and Speech, Language & Communication needs. You will leadthe provision for 8-10 pupils who have a range of identified specialeducational needs – these pupils will require some specialist interventions andalso support accessing the mainstream curriculum and classes. Theresourced provision team is also supported by learning support assistants. We are a school that is continually movingforward, securing high standards and excellent rates of progress for all ourchildren.
We are looking for skilled teacher with:
- Proven skills of teachingpupils with special educational needs and of delivering a personalisedcurriculum either in special school or mainstream
- Understanding of teachingEYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children with some successful abilities incoordinating and managing staff
- Knowledge of, or skills inusing specialist communication systems e.g. Makaton, PECs etc
- Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills for dealing with children, staff and parents
- A commitment and passionfor inclusive education along with the ability to use multiple strategies tomaximise achievement and effectively manage a variety of challenging behaviours
- Are you are an ambitious teacherwith a clear personal philosophy on education throughout the Primary Stage?
