Newtons Primary School, based in the borough of Havering, is seeking an experienced and ambitious Teaching Support Assistant to be flexible and work across Nursery and Primary year groups as and when required. Our school actively encourages our support staff to train to be teachers and are keen to hear from candidates interested in becoming qualified teachers.
As a Teaching Support Assistant you will form part of a team of practitioners responsible for supporting the education and care of the children in the school. Your role will include:
- Advancing student learning
- Implementing work programmes for individuals/groups
- Supervising physical/general care of students, including those with SEN
- Enabling access to learning for students
- Assisting the teacher in the management of students and the classroom
We are looking for a person who:
- Provides excellent provision for our children and plays an integral role in the development of our friendly and nurturing school
- Is or wants to become an outstanding Teaching Support Assistant (and is possibly looking to one day become a teacher themselves)
- Is forward-thinking and adaptable
