We are seeking a fully qualified Finance Analyst (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) to join our FP&A team and help shape a best-in-class, insight-led Finance function at Newton. Reporting into finance leadership, you will partner with functional leaders across Newton to improve cost efficiency, productivity and investment effectiveness. The role blends strong technical finance capability with a business partnering mindset, supporting better decision making through high quality analysis and commercial insight. You will play a key role in shaping a future focused FP&A capability that leverages data analytics, automation and AI to modernise forecasting, reporting and analysis, freeing time for value-adding work.

The role combines technical finance expertise with an insight led partnering approach, helping leaders make better decisions. You will act as a trusted partner who challenges thinking, supports delivery and influences performance outcomes across the business. We are currently a team of over 400 client facing consultants and 150 Head Office staff at Newton. We are looking for a bright and capable individual to join us in a permanent role based in our Head Office in Kingston Bagpuize, Oxfordshire. Our FP&A Team is encompassed within the Finance and Commercial Function.

Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering & Insight: Partner with Head Office and Support Function leaders (e.g. IT, HR, Fleet, Property, Finance) to understand cost drivers, productivity and performance. Provide clear, actionable insight to support prioritisation and decision-making. Build trusted relationships that enable constructive challenge and influence.
  • Performance Management: Analyse overhead spend and productivity trends, identifying risks and opportunities. Develop, enhance and maintain KPI frameworks and dashboards for support functions. Increase transparency over support function costs, productivity and the outcomes delivered to the business.
  • Planning, Forecasting & Modelling: Own forecasting and budgeting processes for Head Office and support functions. Build capacity and cost models to support growth and scalability. Develop robust business cases for investment in people, technology and infrastructure, including ROI and payback analysis.
  • Continuous Improvement, Data & AI: Identify and implement improvements to FP&A processes, reporting and ways of working. Drive automation to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy, consistency and speed. Champion the use of AI and advanced analytics to enhance forecasting, scenario modelling, anomaly detection and insight generation.
  • Reporting & Governance: Deliver high-quality management reporting for Head Office and support functions. Ensure strong data integrity, controls and consistency of information. Support ad-hoc analysis and strategic initiatives across the business.
  • Collaboration: Integrate closely with the wider Finance team, sharing best practice and supporting collective objectives. Contribute to building a high-performing, forward-looking Finance capability at Newton.

Requirements

  • You are a commercially minded, curious and proactive finance professional who enjoys partnering with the business and improving how Finance adds value.
  • Full qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with post-qualification experience in FP&A, commercial finance or performance analysis.
  • Experience partnering with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capability and the ability to translate data into clear insight and action.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting & KPI development.
  • Confidence to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders at different levels.
  • A strong interest in data, automation and AI, and how these can transform finance.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills (experience with Power BI, SQL, or similar tools is desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
  • A continuous improvement mentality.

We also operate profit share and equity schemes so that our people share in the success of the business. The profit share bonus is based on company performance and typically paid out in March and September. Joining us also brings many social benefits.
