We are a team of over 400 client‑facing consultants and 150 Head Office staff at Newton. We are looking for a bright and capable individual to join us in a permanent role based in our Head Office in Kingston Bagpuize, Oxfordshire. Our FP&A Team lives within the Finance and Commercial Function, and you will be responsible for both driving financial performance and supporting key business decisions.

Responsibilities

Performance Metrics and Analysis

  • Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive balanced scorecard framework to measure and manage performance across financial, client impact, growth and culture dimensions – at group, company, business unit, market, and account levels.
  • Conduct regular analysis of performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Lead and coordinate the production and distribution of monthly performance packs.

Business Partnering & Communication

  • Partner with Head Office functions, owning the overhead budgeting process, and proactively collaborate with senior stakeholders to ensure accurate forecasting, clear understanding of budget variances, and a value‑for‑money approach.
  • Construct clear, balanced, and factual narratives about current performance levels and future directions.
  • Work with internal communications to ensure performance updates are regularly distributed and understood across the wider business.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a team, providing guidance and support to ensure high‑quality work and professional development; office presence required at least three days a week.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to performance management.
  • Support junior colleagues in adopting a structured thinking approach through upskilling and education.

Company BI Reports & Data Integrity

  • Responsible for the Key Business Reports (KBRs), ensuring they function correctly and remain available to stakeholders across the company.
  • Ensure the integrity of Newton’s data across multiple platforms and databases.

Requirements

  • Positive attitude and high personal drive; thrive in a demanding, highly rewarding environment.
  • Strong team‑management experience preferable; act as a role model for highly capable team members.
  • Pride in delivering high service levels to stakeholders, with excellent communication skills to build important relationships.
  • Passion for accuracy, adaptability, and genuine interest in IT systems and data integrity.
  • Articulate communicator, able to deliver clear messages and navigate nuanced stakeholder expectations.
  • Professional qualification: ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
  • Highly numerate with technical accounting understanding.
  • Advanced Excel, and competence in Access, SQL, Power Automate, PowerBI; curiosity in AI development.
