Do you have a solid track record of growing B2B financial services events? Are you a great leader of people? We’re looking for a Portfolio Manager for our Insurance Events to take a strong existing portfolio of conferences and scale its impact, quality, and commercial performance. This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic vision, content excellence, and team development.
You’ll lead from the front—spotting emerging industry trends, refreshing and strengthening existing event propositions, securing senior-level speakers, and ensuring our conferences remain relevant, engaging, and must-attend fixtures in the insurance calendar (across both P&C and Captive Insurance). With a strong focus on product development, you’ll nurture and mature the existing portfolio—enhancing formats, optimising performance, and driving sustained revenue growth. You’ll also bring creative thinking to identify new revenue streams within established event frameworks, ensuring each product continues to evolve and deliver commercial impact. You’ll lead a small, ambitious team of producers, developing capability and setting clear expectations around quality and delivery.

Requirements
What you'll be doing
- Lead and develop a team of 2 Conference Producers (junior and senior), ensuring they have the training, resources, and direction needed to deliver against KPIs and key deadlines.
- Produce 3-4 conferences annually (primarily repeat events), alongside a small number of webinars.
- Drive product development, scaling early-stage events into sustainable mid-sized products.
- Grow existing events, increasing attendance and elevating overall quality and market positioning.
- Lead the event marketing in collaboration with the marketing function—driving best practice, innovation, strong copy, and data-led decision-making to ensure ROI.
- Maintain rigorous quality control across the portfolio, ensuring agendas, speakers, and marketing outputs meet high editorial standards and house style.
- Own delegate revenue performance, (both on own events and wider insurance portfolio) developing and executing plans to meet financial targets and ensure high-quality audiences.
- Partner with commercial teams to maximise sponsorship revenue, ensuring products are marketable and commitments to sponsors are consistently delivered.
- Inspire and mentor the team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture and implementing effective training and development plans.
- Continuously innovate event formats, using performance insights and collaboration with editorial, to enhance content, audience engagement, and overall event experience.
What You'll Need
- Experience within insurance, banking, or wider financial services sectors.
- Minimum 2 years' experience managing and developing Conference Producers.
- 6+ years' experience in conference production, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality events.
- Exceptional research, agenda development, and speaker acquisition skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage and influence senior-level stakeholders on strategy, budgets, business plans, and feasibility assessments.
- Highly organised, with excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience driving sponsorship and delegate revenue growth.
- Exposure to awards programmes a plus, as many conferences in the portfolio are co-located events.
