An exciting and expanding Scientific Systems organisation, based in a walking distance from Cambridge City Centre, are currently looking for Senior Product Design Engineer to help and lead the Electro-Mechanical development of cutting-edge scientific instrumentation technologies.
This company are still in a start-up phase, meaning if you join now you will gain access to equity in the business.
The plans this company have in place make me think they will be nothing but a success.
You will be working alongside scientists, physicists, engineers and other experts needed to develop this new technology.
Due to working with these types of R&D experts, you will need to have been successful in this type of role previously, specifically within highly regulated environments like Medical Devices, Life Sciences, Aerospace and other field where you have applied your Product Design skills to scientific instrumentation technologies, specifically electro-mechanical technologies.
As you will be in a senior role in the business, the future plan is that you would take on mentorship role straight away and due to this you will need to have expert CAD experience where you can help others with complex issues.
I’d expect that in the future that you would get the opportunity to move into more of a management/team leader type role, however this will not be immediate.
Specific industry backgrounds that would be useful include, but not limited to, medical devices instrumentation, diagnostics instrumentation, scientific instrumentation and fluidics instrumentation.
It would be highly advantageous is you have been involved with new product introduction.
As a start-up company, you would be expected to help with other areas of the business whenever needed, so wider knowledge and experience will be considered as they may help other areas of the business.
Unlike many start-up companies, this organisation already has all of its funding secured so this means the job security is assured more than most companies in the current global market.
Apart from career progression and job security, you will be rewarded with starting salary, benefits package (at a greater level than most start-up companies, in line with most established companies) and equity shares.
