Newton British School (NBS) – Al Waab is seeking to appoint an experienced and dedicated Primary SENCO to join our thriving British international school in Doha. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding practitioner and skilled leader to play a key role in shaping inclusive provision and ensuring every child is supported to achieve their potential.
This is a full-time position in which the successful candidate will lead and develop provision for pupils with additional learning needs, working collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies to ensure high-quality support and inclusive practice across the primary phase.
- Lead and manage provision for students with special educational needs and additional learning needs across the primary school.
- Support teachers in planning differentiated learning and inclusive classroom practice.
- Coach and mentor staff to strengthen high-quality teaching for all learners.
- Monitor the progress of students with additional needs and use data to inform next steps and interventions.
- Work in partnership with parents, teachers and external professionals to support student outcomes.
- Support the development and implementation of the school’s inclusion and SEND strategy.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and relevant local and international SEND guidance.
- Support the Senior Management Team in driving an inclusive school culture and wider school improvement priorities.
Requirements:
- Holds a BA in Special Educational Needs.
- Has proven experience as a SENCO or in a significant SEND leadership role.
- Holds, or is working towards, a recognised SENCO/Inclusion qualification (desirable).
- Has strong knowledge of SEND practice, interventions and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Is committed to high standards, inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners.
