The Digital Content Editor assigns, creates, edits and optimizes digital copy quickly and cleanly in a fast-paced environment. They are responsible for the timely publishing of high-quality content that is accurate, fair, and conforms to accepted standards of journalism.
They will use new tools and technology to create and edit content as required.
This role is for Tuesday to Saturday, working from 8am to 5pm on weekdays and 9am to 6pm on Saturdays , with occasional work on other days depending on the needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with editors and reporters in the creation of content , including using AI tools .
- Provide feedback and guidance to reporters to improve standards.
- Work with the SEO , Multimedia teams and others to optimize content.
- Meet tight deadlines.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as necessary to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications:
- Strong news judgment across a range of subjects.
- Proven record of editing quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent writing and copy editing skills.
- Demonstrable knowledge of digital tools or applications including content management systems and editing assistance software.
- Demonstrable knowledge of common IT tools such as the Microsoft suite.
