A dynamic PE backed SME group, headquartered in Central London, is seeking an experienced Finance Director to join the leadership team and drive the next phase of growth. This is an office based role offering a competitive package in the region of £120,000 - £140,000.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO, you will take full ownership of the finance function providing strategic insight, financial leadership and operational oversight. You will lead and mentor a highly capable Financial Controller ensuring the team delivers accurate, timely and insightful management information to support decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- End to end group accounting, financial reporting and consolidation.
- Leading month end close and management reporting processes.
- Reviewing and improving financial processes, controls and governance across the group.
- Oversight of debt management and aged debt recovery processes.
- Supporting strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Providing commercial insights to support growth initiatives and PE reporting requirements.
- Mentoring and developing the finance team, particularly the Financial Controller.
Candidate Profile
- ACA/ACCA qualified, top-tier practice trained with a strong audit background.
- Private equity experience is essential, ideally within SME or mid-market businesses.
- Proven track record of improving processes, internal controls and financial discipline.
- Strong knowledge of debt recovery and aged debt management.
- Polished, articulate and commercially aware with a bright personality with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop and challenge a high performing finance team.
- Hands-on, proactive and comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels.
