An innovative and fast-growing e-commerce business is seeking a motivated Management Accountant to join the team on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover. With a strong global presence and consistent year-on-year growth, this company continues to invest in its finance function and commercial capabilities to support its ambitious expansion plans. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to make an immediate impact within a dynamic and evolving business.

The role will play a key part in producing accurate and timely management information, supporting strategic decision-making, driving financial performance, and providing guidance and support to junior members of the finance team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
  • Take ownership of overhead reporting and control across the business.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Partner with operational teams to analyse performance and identify efficiencies.
  • Provide financial insights and support to budget holders and senior management.
  • Assist with audits, statutory accounts, VAT and Corporation Tax returns.
  • Support cash flow management, forecasting and treasury activities.
  • Mentor and support the Finance Apprentice when required.
  • Drive continuous improvements to processes, systems and reporting.
  • Provide wider support across the finance team as needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a Management Accounting, Commercial Finance or Financial Analysis role.
  • Qualified, part-qualified or finalist (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with a strong understanding of management accounting principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the use of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs and other data analysis tools, alongside experience of ERP and accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation capabilities, with experience handling and interpreting large volumes of financial data.
  • Highly accurate and detail-oriented, with a commitment to producing reliable and insightful financial information.
  • Well organised and capable of managing multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive and commercially minded, with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for driving efficiencies and enhancing processes.
