Furniture / Fit Out Project Manager | Commercial & Operational Focus
An established and growing organisation is looking for an experienced Project Manager from a furniture or fit out operational background to take the next step in their career.
This is a hands on role with real ownership, reporting directly to the Group Operations Director and overseeing a growing portfolio of installation and project work.
The key requirement is a Project Manager who understands the operational side of furniture or fit out projects and has exposure to JCT and/or NEC contracts and their application to commercial project management.
You'll combine strong project delivery skills with commercial awareness, taking ownership of budgets, costs, variations, subcontractors, programmes and client relationships.
The Role
You'll oversee multiple live projects while providing leadership and support to the wider project team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and supporting Project Managers, Coordinators and administrative staff.
- Taking projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
- Managing programmes, resources, installation teams and subcontractors.
- Monitoring progress, resolving issues and implementing recovery plans where required.
- Managing budgets, costs, margins and commercial performance.
- Managing variations, delays, subcontractor costs and financial forecasting.
- Applying an understanding of JCT and/or NEC contracts to project commercial management.
- Working closely with procurement, warehouse, logistics and operational teams.
- Acting as a senior client contact and resolving escalated issues.
- Providing project reporting, KPIs and commercial updates to senior management.
- Supporting tenders, sales pitches and client presentations.
