About the Role:
We are looking for dedicated and experienced tutors to support KS1 and KS2 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Tuition will take place during the school day in a variety of settings, including students’ homes, schools, or local libraries across Luton and Central Bedfordshire. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners who require additional, personalised support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, tailored lessons to KS1 and KS2 students with SEN
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs
- Support students with a range of needs including SEND and SEMH
- Track progress and provide feedback to parents/carers and relevant professionals
- Create a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
- Strong understanding of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching/tutoring experience
- Ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons
- Enhanced DBS on the Update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Reliable, patient, and compassionate approach
