We’re looking for a Press Technician to join our team in Weymouth, playing a key role in keeping our print operation running smoothly and to a high standard. Working across press, reel-stand, platemaking and mailroom areas, you’ll be responsible for preparing and operating printing equipment, ensuring deadlines are met and maintaining excellent print quality throughout every run. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who enjoys working with machinery, takes pride in quality, and values teamwork in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up the press for production, including plate sorting, fitting and webbing‑up
  • Monitor print quality throughout runs, ensuring standards are maintained
  • Follow job specifications and ensure all required information is in place before printing
  • Maintain accurate production records, including performance and material usage
  • Support the delivery of production schedules with a flexible, team‑focused approach
  • Carry out routine cleaning, maintenance and housekeeping across the press and surrounding areas
  • Work closely with Mailroom, Platemaking and Engineering teams
  • Operate equipment safely, including forklift use where required
  • Report faults, consumable levels and any production issues to supervisors
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Ideally, experience within a print environment; however, candidates with hands‑on machine operating or mechanical experience are also encouraged to apply
  • Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and work with machinery
  • A positive, team‑focused attitude and willingness to learn new skills
  • Ability to follow processes and maintain attention to detail in a production setting
  • Flexible approach with the ability to adapt to different tasks across the print centre
  • Commitment to working safely and following health and safety procedures, including PPE requirements
  • Comfortable working in a physically active role
