The Northern Echo, Newsquest’s flagship daily title, is looking for a top-class trainee reporter to join the Great Daily of the North.

For more than 150 years, The Northern Echo has been setting the agenda with hard-hitting investigations and campaigns. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious journalist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

Based at our headquarters in Darlington, you will be covering vibrant patches in the North East and North Yorkshire, where you will use your passion for digital storytelling to unearth compelling stories.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

We are looking for an outstanding trainee (with NCTJ prelims, including shorthand) eager to develop their skills on one of the UK\’s leading regional news brands. A full driving license and access to a car are essential.
