At LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group, we’re passionate about helping local businesses grow through smart, data‑driven digital marketing. As a Media Sales Consultant covering North London, you’ll play a key role in driving growth for SMEs by connecting them with effective, digitally led advertising solutions. This is a new business-focused role, where you’ll be responsible for identifying, engaging and winning new clients across your territory. Over time, the accounts you onboard will form your own portfolio, giving you the opportunity to develop long‑term client relationships alongside continued new business activity. You’ll work as part of a successful, collaborative team, partnering closely with colleagues across sales, editorial and marketing to deliver impactful campaigns and an excellent customer experience. The role is hybrid, combining home working, time in the local office to review progress and support development, and regular face‑to‑face client meetings across North London. As travel is essential, candidates must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for business use, and live within or close to the territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business sales across North London through a mix of telephone, video and face‑to‑face meetings.
  • Identify and qualify new prospects via outbound activity, inbound leads, referrals and self‑sourced opportunities.
  • Deliver a consultative sales approach, uncovering client needs through effective questioning and recommending tailored digital solutions.
  • Sell a suite of digital marketing products including paid social, digital display, video and websites.
  • Conduct thorough research into client businesses and industry sectors to produce relevant, data‑led proposals.
  • Build and grow a pipeline of new business, converting clients into long‑term accounts over time.
  • Provide high‑quality account management as accounts develop, ensuring strong relationships and excellent service.
  • Work collaboratively with sales colleagues, editorial and marketing teams to ensure campaign success.
  • Manage the territory effectively through planning, competitor awareness and proactive follow‑up.
  • Consistently meet or exceed KPIs, including activity levels, appointments, revenue and conversion targets.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally within a consultative or solution‑based environment.
  • Confidence in new business development, including outbound prospecting and lead generation.
  • Good understanding of digital marketing products such as paid social, digital display, video and websites (experience selling SaaS or digital services is advantageous).
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, both over the phone and face to face.
  • Ability to build relationships quickly and progress them into long‑term partnerships.
  • Commercially minded, target‑driven and motivated by winning new business.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage time effectively across a hybrid working model.
  • Customer‑focused, with a proactive and service‑led approach.
  • Passion for helping local businesses succeed and an interest in local media.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle for business use.
