The Worcester News is looking for a digital ACE (Audience and Content Editor) to help lead our hugely successful newsroom team. The successful applicant will have a keen eye for a good story and be focused on growing our online audience. This exciting role involves using up-to-the minute statistics to guide our news coverage and the ability to 'sell' our stories online, as well as an in-depth understanding of the importance of SEO, video, social media and audience analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working alongside two other news editors and reporting directly to the Regional Editor.
  • Leading our morning news conference and reacting to breaking news.
  • Coordinating our newsletters, editing copy and mentoring our reporters.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Staying ahead of all the latest developments in digital reporting.
  • Sharing expertise with our reporting team and shaping future strategy to ensure audience growth.
  • Having an NCTJ qualification and excellent knowledge of media law.
  • Being comfortable dealing with members of the public.

This role is based at our Worcester office and requires some weekend shifts, on a rota.
