The Herald & Times Print Centre currently produces our highly successful newspaper titles: The Herald and Glasgow Times, together with a huge volume of contract titles. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are seeking to recruit a key individual for our pressroom team. The position requires good teamwork and flexibility, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities. A willingness to work on a rotational shift pattern is essential, as is a good awareness and understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities.
Reporting to the Presshall Shift Managers, the key focus of this role will be to ensure that daily/nightly printing output meets production deadlines, targets and quality expectations.

- Operate within a pressroom team environment, demonstrating good teamwork and flexibility.
- Adapt to changing priorities within a fast‑paced production setting.
- Maintain a high level of awareness and understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities.
- Work as part of a rotational shift pattern.
- A recognised apprenticeship and qualification in printing.
- Experience of 4 colour web offset printing.
- Experience operating state‑of‑the‑art KBA Colora presses.
- A fundamental knowledge of quality images.
- Experience in setting 4 colour and mono to specified densities and optimum quality.
- The ability to work under pressure and an understanding of the time‑critical nature of newspaper production.
- Consideration will also be given to quality Sheet‑fed printers.
- A detailed working knowledge and understanding of colour printing processes is essential.
