We are seeking a Print Production Technician – Pre‑Press to join our busy Pre‑Press team at our Oxfordshire print operation. This is a hands‑on production role within a fast‑paced newspaper and print environment, playing a key part in ensuring pages are prepared, plated and delivered accurately to press.

Working closely with both Pre‑Press and Print teams, the Print Production Technician – Pre‑Press will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of Computer‑to‑Plate equipment, producing printing plates to a consistently high standard and supporting a smooth and efficient production workflow. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work under tight deadlines, and a proactive approach to quality and accuracy. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing CTP or pre‑press experience, or for a candidate with the right aptitude looking to develop their skills in a professional print production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating and maintaining CTP equipment
  • Producing relevant paperwork and product timings
  • Product planning on the press system
  • Checking files and plates for accuracy and quality
  • Following a production schedule and working to tight deadlines
  • Liaising with pre‑press and print teams
  • Adhering to site health and safety standards and maintaining a clean working environment
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Previous CTP or pre‑press experience preferred, but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency
  • Comfortable working to deadlines and under pressure
  • Flexible with hours and willing to work different shifts if required
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and eventually work alone
