We are looking for a proactive and motivated Merchandiser to join our successful team, covering Ipswich and North Suffolk. This is a field-based role where you will play a key part in driving retail sales and maximising the visibility of our publications, including Ipswich Star, East Anglian Times, Beccles & Bungay Journal, Suffolk Magazine, and Norfolk Magazine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit newsagents, supermarkets and retail outlets within your territory on a regular basis
  • Maintain strong working relationships with store staff and managers
  • Ensure all titles are fully stocked and clearly displayed in line with agreed plans
  • Implement and maintain point-of-sale materials to maximise visibility
  • Identify and act on opportunities to increase product availability and distribution
  • Provide daily reports and feedback on store visits and performance
  • Monitor competitor activity and highlight opportunities for improvement
  • Work towards targets focused on improving sales and distribution

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Highly motivated and target-driven, with a strong focus on delivering results
  • Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with a wide range of people
  • Professional and reliable, representing Newsquest brands to a high standard
  • Able to work independently, using initiative to manage your own territory effectively
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)
  • Previous merchandising or retail experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided
