A rare opportunity is available for a digital-focused news editor to help lead one of Newsquest’s flagship daily brands, the Oxford Mail. We are on the hunt for a first-class newsdesk leader to shape the daily agenda of one of the UK’s fastest-growing regional brands.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leading conferences and presenting the news list to the Regional Editor
- Editing stories and creating content plans
- Coaching and developing our reporters on the ground
- Developing skills across homepage management, subscriptions, SEO, social media, and newsletters
- Motivating, mentoring, and developing the reporting team
- Helping the team get the very best out of their stories online and grow our audience
We are looking for people who are creative, digitally savvy, understand the needs and pressures of a modern newsroom, and want to help us deliver the best possible products to our audience. You will have an excellent knowledge of media law and will be comfortable dealing with members of the public.
