An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented journalist to step into a key news desk role at the Bucks Free Press, one of Newsquest’s leading weekly titles. We are looking for a news editor or first-class reporter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading daily conference and setting the news agenda
  • Presenting the news list to the Regional Editor
  • Editing and writing stories and ensuring high editorial standards
  • Supporting, coaching and developing reporters
  • Creating and delivering content plans
  • Contributing to homepage management, SEO, social media and newsletters

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • A natural newshound with strong editorial instincts
  • Calm under pressure and able to make decisions quickly
  • Competitive, driven and motivated to help a team succeed
