We are looking for a talented writer and copy editor to join our central Magazines department. The role involves writing and editing commercial and editorial features for daily and weekly newspapers, lifestyle magazines and digital titles across the UK. This is a full‑time work-from-home/office role, with the office based in Newport, South Wales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write and edit advertisement features, supplements and lifestyle content for print and digital
  • Create generic and bespoke feature content across newspapers, magazines and websites
  • Research topics, conduct interviews and generate feature ideas across a wide range of subjects
  • Edit copy accurately, write headlines and meet agreed deadlines
  • Source images, video and supporting multimedia where required
  • Write content suitable for the web, with an understanding of SEO
  • Ensure all content meets house style, legal requirements and the IPSO code of conduct
  • Work closely with the magazines and features team

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Relevant qualification, with NCTJ qualification desirable
  • Excellent writing, research and editing skills
  • Strong accuracy in grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work across varied subject areas
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Understanding of media law and editorial standards
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
