Description
The Herald & Times Group operate some of Scotland’s best‑loved media brands, reaching an audience of over 2.5 million adults every month via our market‑leading platforms, including The Herald, Scottish Farmer, The National and Glasgow Times. We are actively seeking a highly experienced Maintenance Mechanical Engineer to work in our busy, multi‑disciplined maintenance department located within our flagship Print Centre outside Glasgow.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned maintenance tasks to agreed standards and procedures.
- Perform diagnostic work and reactive resolution to maximise press and mailroom equipment efficiency.
- Analyse machine performance data and update maintenance records.
- Support the maintenance of site facilities.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to support problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis.
Work Hours
Rotational shift pattern covering dayshift, backshift and nightshift.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum ONC level qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Time‑served experience with a medium to heavy engineering background.
- Desirable knowledge of the newspaper industry.
- Good awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Strong initiative to identify faults and recommend corrective actions.
