The Worcester News is looking for a digital ACE (Audience and Content Editor) to help lead our hugely successful newsroom team.
The successful applicant will have a keen eye for a good story and be focused on growing our online audience. This exciting role involves using up-to-the-minute statistics to guide our news coverage and the ability to ‘sell’ our stories online, as well as an in-depth understanding of the importance of SEO, video, social media and audience analytics.
Key Responsibilities- Working alongside two other news editors and reporting directly to the Regional Editor.
- Leading our morning news conference and reacting to breaking news.
- Coordinating our newsletters, editing copy and mentoring our reporters.
We need someone who stays ahead of all the latest developments in digital reporting and is keen to share their expertise with our reporting team and shape our future strategy to ensure audience growth. The successful applicant will have an NCTJ qualification, excellent knowledge of media law and will be comfortable dealing with members of the public.
This role is based at our Worcester office and requires some weekend shifts, on a rota.
