School/Directorate: Faculty Office - Science and Engineering located at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Harwell.

The local team comprises PSS technical and administrative support staff, academics, research fellows, postdoctoral researchers and PhD students based locally in Harwell, Oxfordshire, with a wide range of people across the site including University staff based in Manchester and various academic, governmental and industrial collaborators both nationally and internationally.

The Deputy Operations Manager will play an integral part in supporting the development of world-leading research for applying synchrotron science to key projects. The Manager will provide day-to-day local support to the Director and Deputy Director of The University of Manchester at Harwell and to the Head of Operations based in Manchester.

The role includes responsibility for the day-to-day local operational matters including the management and development of a high-quality PSS administrative and technical support.

Working together with both the Director, Deputy Director and the Head of Operations, the Deputy Operations Manager will ensure the local implementation of The University of Manchester's policies.

The Manager will also support the Director, Deputy Director and Head of Operations to help ensure the facilities' conformity with all relevant legal and statutory compliance.
