Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that daily/nightly printing output meets production deadlines, targets and quality expectations.
- Operate within a pressroom team environment, demonstrating good team working and flexibility.
- Adapt to changing priorities within a fast‑paced production setting.
- Maintain high awareness and understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities.
- Work as part of a rotational shift pattern.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A recognised apprenticeship and qualification in printing.
- Experience of 4 colour web offset printing.
- Experience operating state of the art KBA Colora presses.
- A fundamental knowledge of quality images.
- Experience of setting 4 colour and mono to specified densities and optimum quality.
- The ability to work under pressure and an understanding of the time‑critical nature of newspaper production.
- Consideration will also be given to quality Sheet‑fed printers.
- A detailed working knowledge and understanding of colour printing processes is essential.
