About the Role: We are looking for a Day Technical Services Engineer to join our team at Newsprinters Eurocentral. This role will play a crucial part in maintaining and improving our manufacturing processes. You will deliver preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance to ensure maximum production efficiency while working collaboratively within a skilled team. As a Day Technical Services Engineer, you will demonstrate the company’s core values through your focus on performance, quality, health and safety, and continuous development.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities:
- Perform planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed, supporting a safe working environment for employees, business partners, and visitors.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing management teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Deliver high‑quality maintenance and repairs while providing technical advice and support to the wider team.
- Participate in continuous improvement programmes, identifying areas for efficiency and quality enhancement.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional working environment across all production areas.
- Assist in developing and maintaining health and safety policies and procedures.
- Attend training and development sessions to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Liaise effectively with team managers, technical engineers, and production staff to ensure seamless operations.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Qualified to HNC/HND level (or equivalent) in a relevant mechanical discipline, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience with the ability to diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and maintain equipment.
- Electrical qualifications or experience would be advantageous (City & Guilds Level 3, HNC, or HND).
- Experience working within a newspaper manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
- Strong technical judgment and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using computer‑based reporting and work management systems.
