About Newson Films
Newson Films is a video production and animation company working with some of the world’s biggest brands, as well as UK marketing and creative agencies. Our work covers major sporting events, live events, brand films, corporate content, 2D/3D animation and short-form social.
We’re a fully remote team, and it’s been a seriously busy few months. New clients and bigger projects mean we’re growing the post-production side, so we’re looking for a talented video editor with motion graphics skills to join us.
The role
You’ll be editing a wide range of projects from start to finish. That includes brand films and event highlights, fast-turnaround social content and motion graphics-led pieces. You’ll work closely with our director and producer, take briefs and run with them, and help push the creative side of what we deliver.
We’re also building a lot of AI into our videos at the moment, so there’s plenty of room to experiment with new tools and workflows.
What you’ll be doing
- Editing long and short-form video in Premiere Pro, from rough cut to final delivery
- Creating motion graphics, animated titles, text animation and lower thirds in After Effects
- Cutting short-form content for social (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn)
- Working AI tools into the workflow to speed up production and create new kinds of content
- Handling client amends and keeping projects moving to deadline
- Working to brand guidelines for a range of clients and agencies
What we’re looking for
- Strong editing skills in Premiere Pro
- Confident in After Effects (motion graphics, text animation, titles)
- A strong showreel that shows both editing and motion work
- Good storytelling instincts and an eye for pacing, music and sound
- Able to take a brief and run with it with minimal hand-holding
- Organised, reliable and comfortable working remotely to deadlines
- Good spoken and written English for briefs and Zoom calls
Nice to have
- Experience with Higgsfield or other AI video tools
- Experience with short-form content strategy and hooks
- Colour grading and audio clean-up skills
- 3D or 2D animation experience
