About the RoleThis role focuses on overseeing catering operations while ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and NHS service standards. The successful candidate will support the preparation and delivery of balanced meals within strict budget requirements while supervising food service operations across wards, restaurants, and coffee shop facilities. The position also involves staff training, rota management, handling complaints, ordering supplies, and preparing fresh food items using advanced food preparation techniques. Furthermore, the candidate will support patient dietary needs in collaboration with ward staff and dieticians.
Job Duties- Support the day to day operation of hospital catering services.
- Ensure food hygiene and food safety standards are maintained.
- Supervise and train catering staff.
- Handle complaints from wards, restaurants, and coffee shop customers.
- Manage till cashing procedures within catering outlets.
- Order food supplies and maintain stock levels.
- Prepare fresh meals, sandwiches, and snacks within set deadlines.
- Compile weekly staff rotas and allocate additional working hours efficiently.
- Support delivery of balanced meals for patients with dietary requirements.
- Collaborate with ward staff and dieticians to meet patient nutrition needs.
- City and Guilds 706/1, 706/2, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification required.
- Knowledge of special diets and food preparation processes required.
- Advanced food hygiene knowledge required.
- Maths and English proficiency required.
