Responsibilities- Prepare month-end journals, reconciliations, and management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash
- Perform bank, supplier, and sales/merchant reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Manage purchase ledger activities, including invoice processing, supplier statements, and payment runs
- Reconcile retail sales, POS systems, and merchant settlements with accurate posting of daily takings
- Support stock accounting, adjustments, and stocktake processes
- Assist with VAT reporting, compliance, and audit trail preparation
- Support year-end processes and external reporting as required
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, controls, and reporting
- Proven experience working as an accountant in a high-volume or retail environment
- Strong understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, and VAT fundamentals
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar systems
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Close attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
