Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT) is inviting applications for an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to join its core digital and clinical systems team in Harrogate, England. About the RoleThis is a senior, hands-on infrastructure role combining responsibility, third-line technical support, and strategic input into future platform design. The role is primarily site-based at Harrogate District Hospital and includes participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota. Responsibilities- Manage, support, and continuously improve the Trust’s end-to-end IT infrastructure environment
- Lead on server, virtualisation, storage, and core network platforms across on-premise and cloud services
- Provide advanced third-line support for complex, integrated infrastructure and clinical system issues
- Design and deliver infrastructure components of major digital and clinical IT projects
- Ensure high standards of system availability, performance, resilience, and security
- Act as a senior technical authority and local subject matter expert for infrastructure technologies
- Participate in the on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support when required
- Strong experience managing Microsoft Server environments, both on-premise and in cloud platforms
- Proven hands-on expertise with VMware, Veeam, Citrix VDI, and enterprise SAN storage
- Solid background in enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, and core platforms
- Experience providing third-line support and resolving complex, multi-system technical issues
- Ability to lead technical delivery within structured project environments
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
- Willingness to work on-site in Harrogate and participate in an on-call rota
