Job Duties
- Leading strategic management of commissioner contracts and specialised NHS income streams.
- Managing the Trust’s annual income planning and long-term financial forecasting processes.
- Overseeing monthly income assurance, validation, reconciliation, and financial reporting activities.
- Developing and supervising the Income Team while maintaining excellent service delivery standards.
- Advising senior executives on financial risks, policy changes, and income improvement strategies.
- Representing the Trust during negotiations with NHS England, ICBs, DHSC, and healthcare providers.
- Supporting financial modelling activities that strengthen long-term healthcare operational sustainability.
- Ensuring accurate compliance with NHS payment systems, tariffs, and commissioning frameworks.
Job Requirements
- A fully qualified accountant certification through CCAB or an equivalent professional body.
- More than ten years of finance department experience, preferably within NHS healthcare organizations.
- Extensive experience advising senior finance and non-finance stakeholders on complex financial matters.
- Expert understanding of NHS payment systems, tariffs, coding, and commissioning arrangements.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic planning experience.
- Excellent leadership abilities with experience managing high-performing finance teams effectively.
- Knowledge of NHS financial systems, patient-level costing, and service line reporting processes.
