• Design, build, and maintain functional simulators of the OPTU subsystem and full compute pipeline
• Develop and own architectural and cycle‑accurate performance models to analyse throughput, latency, and utilisation
• Instrument and analyse real workloads such as LLMs, diffusion models, and graph workloads to collect detailed traces
• Run large‑scale design‑space explorations to evaluate trade‑offs and guide hardware, software, and optical roadmaps
• Identify performance bottlenecks and propose architectural or scheduling improvements
• Build Python and C++ tooling for trace parsing, statistical analysis, and visualisation
• Integrate performance models into CI pipelines to provide automated performance regression testing
• Package complex simulation results into clear, decision‑ready engineering insights

• 3+ years of experience building performance or power models for CPUs, GPUs, ASICs, or accelerators
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python with experience in cycle‑accurate or discrete‑event simulators
• Solid understanding of computer architecture, memory systems, interconnects, and performance analysis theory
• Familiarity with machine learning workloads and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
• Ability to read RTL or hardware schematics and discuss micro‑architectural trade‑offs with hardware teams
• Strong data analysis and visualisation skills with the ability to communicate complex results clearly
