Your role: You will help develop and deliver on the UK e-commerce team’s audience growth strategy across all verticals on TalkSport. Working with the Commercial Audience Lead, TalkSport editorial team, and Partnerships Lead, the SEO and Audience Executive will assist with defining and implementing all audience-related strategies, with a special focus on SEO, to increase traffic and revenue to all commercial content.

Day to day you will:

  • Help to define and deliver SEO and audience strategies for UK e-commerce projects (Organic, Discover, Social, Newsletters, and Internal Traffic).
  • Support the ecommerce team with SEO-related queries, ensuring SEO best practices are being followed.
  • Identify emerging shopping trends and provide team members with content ideas and keywords, and help them flesh out the content strategy.
  • Monitor Google updates and algorithm changes, updating SEO guides and providing guidance to team members.
  • Regularly carry out competitor analysis and identify new opportunities and ways to optimise existing strategy.
  • Closely monitor the traffic and revenue performance of ecommerce content by carrying out monthly audits.
  • Own audience data insights across ecommerce projects and share with team and wider stakeholders.
  • Research and recommend SEO updates for existing ecommerce content.
  • Help to create SEO content plans for Partnership campaigns and key seasonal ecommerce events.
  • Support with the internal link-building strategy for ecommerce content.

What we’re looking for from you:

  • SEO/Audience experience in a newsroom or similar environment.
  • Good understanding of affiliate marketing.
  • Data-driven with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience using WordPress would be beneficial.
  • In-depth knowledge of on-page SEO, with a general interest in SEO and audience trends.
  • Experience working with SEMRush (or similar), Google Search Console, and Google Trends research tools.
  • Good knowledge of the latest SEO developments and algorithmic changes.
  • Effective project management and experience working with many stakeholders (Editorial, SEO/Audience, Commercial) to deliver strategy.
  • Can confidently translate and crystalise key SEO information (Core Web Vitals) and share with wider teams.
  • Genuine interest in ecommerce.
  • Strong SEO editing and digital headline writing skills.
