Sun Originals is a brand new video production studio making premium series for The Sun, Sun Sport, and Fabulous brands. Creating, developing, and producing a slate of brand new original shows, the department is tasked with delivering huge new audiences, developing a raft of famous new faces, and helping to deliver The Sun to its next generation of viewers.

Your Role: As a Producer, you will be at the editorial heart of compelling content that both informs and engages audiences. You will be responsible for overseeing the video production process including casting, filming, producing, and editing to deliver high-quality video content for distribution across channels and platforms, using data and analytics to inform future content.

You’ll also play a key role in launching and shaping new channels, understanding how tone, format, and storytelling should flex by platform.

Day to day you will:

• Lead a production team of Assistant Producers and Video Editors to develop, cast, produce, script, and edit-produce content.
• Work with the Commissioning Editor Fabulous Originals to ensure video episodes deliver on time and to budget.
• Pitch and develop new creative ideas to the Commissioning Editor to steer the brand toward new audiences, keeping our series fresh and exciting, ensuring that The Sun stays ahead of the competition through innovation and excellence.
• Produce shooting briefs and scripts for series, leaning into your creative abilities to ensure each episode has a clear narrative and climax.
• Ensure compliance and duty of care protocols are adhered to and assist the production department in maintaining the necessary paperwork.
• Target, develop, and manage new on-screen talent suitable for young digital-first audiences.

• Digital Native: You are deeply immersed in the digital media landscape with an intuitive understanding of what drives traffic online, especially on YouTube, and how content needs to adapt across platforms.
• News Savvy: You have a solid understanding of journalistic practices, the latest news and lifestyle coverage trends, and how to turn them into compelling visual stories that resonate with digital audiences.
• Data-Driven & Results-Oriented: You use analytics and performance insights to shape editorial decisions and optimise content.
• Team Management: You are used to managing teams including producers and editors to deliver great episodes in a positive manner.
• Leadership & Collaboration: You’re a natural collaborator who can work closely with colleagues to ensure a seamless video production process from concept to execution.
• Podcast & Culture Savvy: You understand how podcasts work editorially and commercially, with a genuine feel for women's lifestyle content, internet culture, and the conversations audiences actually care about.
