Our Finance team has a large part to play in the success of our business. We are based across a few locations, but operate as one team, and work together to create a positive, productive and highly efficient finance department within News UK.

Day to Day you will:

  • Work across the heart of the Sun working across our Publishing areas including Editorial, Marketing, Paid Sales and Membership.
  • Report and provide support to the Finance Manager.
  • Analyse results and produce weekly and monthly reports of relevant costs and KPIs.
  • Work with the Finance manager this role will be responsible for the loading of monthly and quarterly budgets and forecasts.
  • Review results and trends and produce Weekly and Monthly reporting of relevant costs and KPIs including costs of Editorial departments.
  • Run the Pagination process for The Sun at forecasts and report on a weekly basis.
  • Work closely with the team responsible in Peterborough to ensure costs are recorded accurately.
  • Challenge assumptions to ensure accuracy and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Continue to look for efficiency and better ways to report KPIs.
  • Ad hoc support of the Finance Manager, Head of Finance, The Sun, and Finance Director, The Sun.

What we are looking for from you:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant with a number of years PQE.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with multiple areas.
  • Proactive, problem solving, ‘can do’ attitude to work with multiple stakeholders of varying finance knowledge.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
  • Media / digital marketing experience helpful, not essential.
  • Strong excel skills (experience with TM1 beneficial but not essential).

We offer a flexible working arrangement where employees are expected to be in the office a minimum of three days per week. For the remaining two days, there is the option to work remotely if desired.
