HarperNonFiction is one of the UK’s leading entertainment and lifestyle publishers, home to some of the biggest names and bestselling brands in nonfiction. Our publishing spans memoir, music, sport, wellness, cookery, smart thinking, popular culture and narrative nonfiction, with authors including Cher, Peter Kay, Jay Shetty, Debbie Harry, Rob Beckett, Marcus Wareing, Adam Buxton and the Map Men.

This is an opportunity to work on campaigns at the intersection of publishing, entertainment, digital culture and media. We are looking for a creative, commercially minded and digitally fluent marketer who is excited by big ideas, cultural conversation and creating standout campaigns that drive engagement, awareness and sales. You might already be working in publishing, or you may come from a different creative industry such as media, entertainment, podcasting, music, talent‑led brands, consumer marketing or digital content. What matters most is strong campaign instinct, creative ambition and a genuine understanding of how audiences engage with culture today.

The successful candidate will lead and shape integrated campaigns across our Entertainment, Lifestyle and Mudlark publishing verticals, working closely with authors, agents, media partners and internal teams to create standout publishing moments for some of the most recognisable brands and voices in nonfiction.

Key tasks and accountabilities:
  • Develop bold, creative and commercially effective campaigns that build engagement, cultural conversation and sales.
  • Lead integrated marketing campaigns across print, digital, social, audio, partnerships, retail and live opportunities.
  • Create best‑in‑class campaign strategies tailored to authors, brands and audiences across a wide range of nonfiction genres.
  • Identify innovative opportunities to amplify authors, maximise discoverability and extend campaign reach across emerging platforms and media.
  • Work closely with authors, agents and internal stakeholders to shape campaign positioning and maximise visibility.
  • Deliver campaign assets and activity including advertising, content, partnerships, influencer and creator outreach, social media marketing, copywriting and retail support materials.
  • Manage campaign budgets, timelines and external partners effectively, ensuring activity is delivered creatively, strategically and efficiently.
  • Use audience insight, analytics and campaign reporting to evaluate performance, optimise activity and inform future publishing and marketing strategy.
  • Contribute to acquisition pitches and publishing strategy discussions with agents and authors.
  • Build strong relationships with media, creator, platform and brand partners to maximise campaign impact and visibility.
  • Work collaboratively across Editorial, Publicity, Sales and International teams to deliver integrated publishing campaigns.
  • Champion new ideas, digital innovation and shared learning within the wider marketing team.
Skills required:
  • Proven experience delivering ambitious, audience‑focused marketing campaigns with clear commercial impact.
  • Strong creative instincts and a track record of developing standout campaign ideas.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing, social platforms, audience engagement and contemporary media culture.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with confidence working across multiple stakeholders and creative personalities.
  • Commercially aware, analytical and comfortable using data and insight to inform decisions.
  • Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience in publishing is welcome but not essential; we are equally interested in candidates from entertainment, media, podcasting, talent, consumer brands or other creative industries.
  • Passionate about storytelling, culture and the role that books play within wider entertainment and media conversation.
  • Curious about emerging trends, platforms and campaign formats, with an entrepreneurial approach to marketing.
  • Collaborative, generous and excited to contribute to a creative, ambitious and supportive team culture.
Benefits:
  • Hybrid working model (3 days in the office).
