The Times is seeking a Technology Business Reporter. This is an exciting opportunity for a self‑motivated and ambitious financial journalist to provide informed and engaging news stories, analysis and commentary on the technology sector for Times readers.

Day to day you will:

  • Bring in regular exclusives and maintain excellent contacts in technology and social media
  • Write in a distinctive and engaging way that meets the brief from the commissioning editor and to the required length
  • Be a self‑starter and pitch strong ideas for all sections across print and digital
  • Command respect and authority in your writing and communicate that knowledge effectively in print, digital, radio and television as a representative of The Times – especially our own internal stations.
  • Able to write across all sections and platforms seamlessly with particular attention to digital
  • Have a strong knowledge of social media and an ability to use it to increase our readership
  • Regularly pitch and contribute to digital packages that increase engagement and support subscriber growth
  • Collaborate with production colleagues in design, pictures and sub‑editing on elements that enhance the stories you write
