Your Team

You will join The Sun’s digital product teams, a dedicated group focused on the development and continuous improvement of our digital portfolio, including our websites, apps, and various digital platforms. Our team operates as an agile, cross‑functional programme, collaborating closely to ensure our products meet the ever‑changing needs of our audience and business while delivering excellence across one of Britain’s most iconic brands.

Your Role

As our Principal Product Manager reporting to the Head of Product, you will take ownership of key digital initiatives across our major owned and operated platforms. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead impactful digital experiences and help shape the future of our brand by balancing audience needs with business priorities in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Day to day You Will

  • Deliver a clear and impactful vision for The Sun’s digital products, ensuring alignment with wider business goals and audience needs.
  • Drive the growth of content capabilities across our digital portfolio, with a particular focus on app and video features.
  • Lead and inspire a team of product managers, providing guidance and mentorship to help them deliver their best work.
  • Collaborate with editorial, commercial, and technology teams to ensure priorities are aligned and outputs meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Utilise data and insights to inform decisions, measure success, and continuously optimise product performance.
  • Champion the creation of seamless, user‑friendly experiences that increase engagement and retention across all platforms.
  • Support the evolution of our digital platforms to ensure they remain robust, scalable, and future‑ready.

What we’re looking for from you

  • Demonstrated experience in digital product management, with a track record of delivering successful products in an audience‑focused environment.
  • Previous experience leading and developing a team of product managers to foster a culture of innovation and continuous growth.
  • Strong understanding of the media landscape to effectively balance editorial priorities and brand identity with commercial objectives.
  • Clear communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and non‑technical teams and manage diverse stakeholder expectations.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies to lead cross‑functional teams and ensure the delivery of high‑quality outcomes.
  • A data‑driven mindset to confidently use analytics when prioritising initiatives and measuring product success.
  • A commitment to user‑centred design to ensure we are always delivering exceptional and intuitive digital experiences.
