Your Team: News Live is the events engine for News UK, producing more than 200 events each year that bring our brands to life for audiences, clients, and stakeholders. Your Role: As an Event Manager, you are a dynamic delivery specialist within the News Live engine, accountable for the seamless execution of small-to-medium scale events across our iconic brands. You will be an organised, high-energy executor who thrives on the details and can turn a project plan into a world-class live experience. Reporting into the team leadership, you will ensure every touchpoint reflects our world-renowned journalism, leading on smaller activations while collaborating as a core member of the team on larger-scale projects.
Day to day You Will:
- Take full ownership of assigned events from the initial brief through to flawless execution and strategic analysis.
- Create and manage detailed project timelines to ensure all critical milestones are met by the wider team.
- Act as the primary contact for event sponsors, managing expectations and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
- Collaborate with designers and agencies to align production with the creative vision.
- Manage financial forecasting, billing, and spend reconciliation to ensure the financial success of every project.
- Offer creative solutions to logistical challenges, acting as an expert advisor on event propositions.
- Build trust with internal teams like Editorial, Commercial, and Marketing to provide guidance on production feasibility.
- Negotiate with suppliers and venues to secure high-quality services that drive value.
- Utilise project management tools like Smartsheet and Slack daily to maintain real-time transparency of projects.
- Lead on-site delivery, overseeing stakeholders, suppliers, setup, and de-rig to ensure a perfect attendee experience.
What we’re looking for from you:
- Experience in organising small and medium-scale events, including virtual, experiential, and brand communications.
- Experience managing project budgets and maintaining profitability through strong financial literacy.
- Demonstrable understanding of how live events can bring brand values and journalism to life.
- Technical knowledge of event streaming and digital delivery platforms.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously within fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency in using project management tools to track and report on progress.
- Collaborative approach to working within diverse project groups and internal departments.
- Clear communication skills used to produce regular reports on evaluation, ticket sales, and feedback.
- Creative problem-solving skills applied to logistical and operational challenges.
- Flexibility to travel and work evenings or weekends as required by the event calendar.
