We currently have an opportunity to join a leading Broadcast Technology Company as part of the Broadcast Project Team for a 16 month FTC, delivering new and exciting projects across multiple brands within the business.

The Team

You will be joining a small, expert team of project engineers dedicated to delivering complex studio and broadcast systems projects across all News Broadcasting brands. Our team supports iconic names such as talkSPORT, talkSPORT2, Virgin Radio, Times Radio, Talk, and News Studios, ensuring our technical infrastructure remains world-class.

Your Role

As Systems Project Engineer, reporting to the Lead Broadcast Projects Engineer, you will contribute to the design, installation, documentation and delivery of audio and video broadcast systems across the Radio and Television platforms located at The News Building in London Bridge. Your main focus will be the lifecycle of a build. This could range from commissioning a new studio or production gallery or migrating traditional baseband SDI to IP-based Infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Physical Infrastructure: Racking mounting broadcast equipment rooms (MCR/CAR).
  • Cable Management: Design and install copper (Cat6a), fiber (OS2/OM4), and legacy SDI cabling to ensure robust connectivity.
  • System Documentation: Create and maintain the high level documentation for the facility, including AutoCAD/VidCAD signal flows, detailed cable schedules, and rack elevations.
  • Hardware Commissioning: Install and physically test broadcast systems equipment, including; mixing consoles, camera CCUs, and multi-viewer systems.
  • Workflow Design: Partner with production teams to ensure the physical layout of the furniture and hardware meets the creative brief for ergonomics and speed.
  • IP Orchestration: Implement and maintain PTP (Precision Time Protocol) to ensure audio and video synchronization across the network.

What we’re looking for from you

  • Technical proficiency in broadcast systems, including an understanding of IP Networks such as SMPTE ST 2110 and AOIP AES67.
  • Proven background in delivering projects within a broadcast environment.
  • Working knowledge of NMOS (IS‑04/IS‑05) for device and connection management.
  • Familiarity with streaming platforms and protocols like SRT, HLS, and NDI to support multi‑platform content delivery.
  • Understanding of IT networking principles as they apply to broadcast technology, specifically Cisco and Arista CLI.
  • Self‑motivated individual with excellent organisational skills and a commitment to project timelines.
  • Effective communication skills to translate complex technical requirements into functional designs while working across different technical departments.
