You will support Manchester operations, to ensure all legislative issues concerning Health, Safety, Fire and Evacuation Procedures, Welfare at Work, Quality, Food Safety and Management of environment are integrated into the operational practices across the UK network. You will support the implementation of effective management systems to support risk management and controlling continuous improvement of QHSE performance. You will ensure the unit and its assets are always safe and secure whilst ensuring compliance to planned plant and equipment service and maintenance schedules.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Interpret the requirements of ISO Standards to assist with the design and development of the quality and compliance management systems processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality, Food Safety and Environment requirements as specified in the global QHSE Management System. These requirements must be implemented and maintained in all existing and new sites.
  • Plan and maintain the annual internal audit schedule, logs and monitors nonconformities and corrective actions and perform/review corrective action effectiveness and verification.
  • Deal with local authorities EHO, DEFRA etc when onsite ensuring the unit is compliant.
  • Prepare the site for Customer audits and visits ensuring any non-conformities are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Work alongside the UK security Manager to ensure the unit is compliant on CAA requirements and that internal security audits are completed as per schedule and results communicated to the unit Manager.
  • Plan, conduct and audit Fire Drills and co-ordinate periodic checks with local Fire Services including Fire Marshall training.
  • Plan and execute internal risk-based audits in keeping with aspects defined by risk managers, including HACCP, QMS and HSE.
  • Review audit findings, finalise conclusions and report results for management review.
  • Provide early warning to senior management on matters requiring regulatory escalation.
  • Perform gap analysis and define training content.
  • Develop a training plan and update training materials for internal training on food hygiene, for Health and Safety induction, for HACCP, Quality and Environment compliance.
  • Produce QHSE compliance reports for Management review, adhere to monthly schedule of Food Safety, Quality and H&S ensuring all tasks completed in a timely manner.
  • Respond to food safety customer complaints through thorough investigations including completing root cause analysis.
  • Lead investigations in case of food poisoning or other illness/injury of staff.
  • Collect on a monthly basis data on work related absences, measure accidents rates and ensure all corrective actions are in place.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of criteria for supplier’s selection and audit.
  • Conduct research to improve processes and inform policy and procedure changes.
  • Communicate and share the quality strategy to key stakeholders.
  • Any other duties as requested by your line manager.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in QHSE management and food safety.
  • Experience in catering and or hospitality desirable.
  • Ability to travel across the UK.
  • Proven experience and ability to manage people, processes, and technology whilst managing operational, organisational and financial elements.
  • Good business acumen, including written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success managing new initiatives while meeting operating and budgetary requirements.
  • Strategic thinker and strong analytical skills.
