Newrest is looking for General Assistants to join our London Gatwick team. If you have the skills and drive to join us, there has never been a more exciting time to join. You will need to thrive in a busy environment and in new environments on a daily basis. As a General Assistant, you will be working in the following areas: Dishwash, Production and Pick and Pack.

- Rate of Pay: £12.81 per hour
- Shift: 4 on 2 Off, rolling roster

To join our successful team at Gatwick, you will play a key role in ensuring that our catering and goods arrive on time with our customers.
Responsibilities
- Rotate stock to maximise shelf life
- Record and report food wastage
- Record and report breakages (e.g., china, glass)
- Ensure production schedules are met
- Dispose of all waste in the appropriate equipment provided (Dishwash)
- Load catering equipment into the machine as per training
- Ensure wash machine is running to temperature and check equipment for damage and cleanliness after washing
- Ensure all airline products are to specification and are supplied to relevant departments in an organized manner, packed into the appropriate equipment ready for use/dispatching to aircraft (Production)
- Pack carts/production trolleys to the required standard and in accordance with passenger volumes
- Check all products prior to packing and pack carts to the required standard in accordance with passenger numbers (Pick and Pack)
- Carry out final search and screening function (Pick and Pack)
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in catering (desirable)
- Excellent communication, teamwork and customer service skills
- Good literacy skills, verbal, written and spoken
