Newrest is a thriving industry to be involved in with excellent career prospects. The role will liaise with colleagues, in particular drivers and team managers to assist with the loading and offloading of carts, conducting security checks whilst ensuring efficiency and security protocols are always followed. You will play a vital part in getting aircraft ready for take-off, before passengers even board.
Rate of Pay: £14.76 per hour, plus flat rate overtime
Shift: 5 On 3 Off, rolling roster
Hours: Various start times, you must be able to work all shifts on rotation
Mandatory: UK Manual driving licence - less than 6 points ideally
You must be flexible to work shifts as operations run seven days a week (including evenings and public holidays), and you will be required to extend shifts depending on airside operational requirements. Please note that as this position is in the aviation industry your offer would be subject to security clearance which requires a 5-year employment reference check. If you are invited to an interview, we would request that you bring a copy of your HMRC employment history. We are looking for candidates that can commit to this role on a long-term basis, as such candidates must have under four references and have the permanent, unrestricted right to work in the UK.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading catering equipment, carts, and supplies to strict timeframes.
- Preparing trolleys and orders accurately for outbound flights.
- Working airside around aircraft while following aviation safety and security rules.
- Supporting drivers and operations teams to meet on-time departures.
- Carry out primary security checks of the airline equipment in accordance with both CAA and DfT regulations.
- Carry out vehicle security searches in accordance with both CAA and DfT regulations.
- Effectively fill requisitions and load airline food and catering supplies inside delivery trucks.
- Ensure drivers are provided with all catering components for each flight on time.
- Assist in the catering and de-catering of all aircraft as instructed by block plans and allocator.
- Ensure aircraft are catered following correct galley plan for that aircraft.
- Ensure all catering and de-catering is completed on time and following current SLAs.
- Ensure all inbound catering and equipment is moved from the trucks into the wash and pick and pack department.
- Utilise effective communications to minimise delays and resolve problems.
- Pack carts/Production trolleys to the required standard and in accordance with passenger volumes.
- Ensure production and off Dock schedules are met.
- Support other departments and teams when and where required to maintain production/dispatch schedule.
- Ensure that all products and equipment meet the required standard before leaving the unit and stock is rotated to get maximum shelf life both in the Dispatch and in the unit.
- Adhere to Unit safety measures in place, inflight services security compliance and clean as you go standard.
- Report all accidents/hazards/near misses, in your area in line with Newrest requirements.
- Ensure you understand, comply and abide by any new or amendments to policies, processes or working practices.
- Any other duties as requested by your manager.
Essential Skills:
- Valid UK Manual Driving licence (less than 6 points).
- Physically fit, able to lift and/or push approximately 50lbs and work in diverse temperatures.
- Able to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and customer service skills.
