Look no further, because Newquay Town Council is seeking a Facilities Operative (Cleaner) to join our team on 20-hour per week contract!

As part of our Facilities Cleaning team, you'll be responsible for ensuring that our public toilets and other council-owned properties are kept in tip‑top shape.

Your attention to detail will be key to making sure everything is clean, safe, and secure for our residents and visitors alike.

With 13 sets of toilets to manage, you'll never be short of something to keep you busy!

But don't worry, you won't be alone in your duties.

While you'll be working independently, you'll have the support of our Deputy Estates Manager, who will be on hand to provide guidance and advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily cleaning tasks, ensuring that local cleaning schedules are being followed and that high quality standards have been met.
  • Assisting the Deputy Estates Manager (Facilities) with large scale cleaning activities as and when required.
  • Assisting with the cleaning and maintenance of the Town's public toilets and open spaces.
  • Undertake other duties that may be required from time to time within the general scope of the post.
  • Cycle to Work and Techschemes: Get discounts off Bicycles, Bicycle accessories, Tech, Gadgets and much more!
  • 25 Days Annual Leave in addition to Public and Bank Holidays.

This rises to 28 Days Annual Leave after 5 years service.

Continuous service does apply and previous service within a Local Authority will count.
