Newquay Town Council is a vibrant and dynamic local government organisation committed to enhancing the quality of life for our residents and visitors. As a popular seaside town known for its stunning beaches, vibrant culture, and strong sense of community, we are seeking a CCTV Operative on a part-time 20 hour per week contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control and monitor the CCTV network across Newquay and St Austell Towns by using learned surveillance techniques and ensure that the system operates effectively in line with current legislation and other relevant procedures.
  • The effective use of CCTV equipment and radio infrastructure including Police Airwave radio.
  • Respond to and give a thorough and high standard of coverage of incidents in a timely manner in line with relevant procedures.
  • Ensure that CD/DVD/USB/Hard Drive/Electronic footage is retained, stored and disposed of in line with local policy and procedure.
  • Review the CCTV systems to locate relevant CCTV footage, copy the footage and produce evidential packages in order to be used as evidence in Court as and when required.
  • Undertake administrative duties on behalf of the CCTV Control Room.
  • Undertake functional checks of all Control Room equipment and report any faults in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to the CCTV Operation Manual and Code of Practice at all times.
  • On the job training will be given to the successful candidate.
